Robo kids is a spec generative NFT project created during the boom of NFT art.

With so many great projects to be inspired by; Cryptopunks, Azuki, Bored Ape and many more, I wanted to create something pixel based using very simple color palettes. Generative NFTs were also something of interest, I wanted to challenge myself to learn something new like simple programming. Thanks to a deep community of other generative artists I found a simple process on Github developed by Hashlips. This laid out the foundation of the code to generate 1000's of artwork's.

A collection of a few favorites, selected from over 1000 generated NFT's.

The Art

Based off a 64 x 64 pixel grid I created a simple head shape with room to add facial and head accessories. The background color, head and shoulders, ears, antenna, face color, eyes, and mouth all populate on different layers so there was no shortage of variability. Using Hashlip's code there was an ability to add rarity or "weight" to certain attributes so each layer is given a designation as Super Rare, Rare, Uncommon and Common. This way artworks can be distinguished from one another and give collectors a reason to trade NFT's. Pink sunglasses for example is a super rare trait, where normal sunglasses are common.
